Why Winklr Uses Passwordless Sign-In

Passwords are easy to forget, reuse, and lose. Winklr uses passwordless sign-in so people can get into their account with passkeys, Google, or Apple instead.
Fewer passwords is a good thing
Most people already have too many passwords.
Some are reused. Some are saved somewhere unsafe. Some are forgotten at the worst possible moment.
Winklr is built around a simpler idea: you should not need to create another password just to use the app.
How passwordless sign-in works
Winklr supports passwordless sign-in options such as passkeys, Google sign-in, and Apple sign-in.
A passkey lets your device handle the secure part of signing in. Instead of typing a password, you confirm it is you with Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, face unlock, PIN, or your device screen lock.
Google and Apple sign-in work slightly differently, but the principle is similar: your existing account provider handles the sign-in step, and Winklr does not receive your Google or Apple password.
Why this is better for users
Passwordless sign-in helps reduce common account problems:
- No Winklr password to remember
- Less temptation to reuse an old password
- Less risk from phishing pages asking for a password
- A faster sign-in flow on devices people already trust
It is not about making security feel technical. It is about removing a weak point that causes real problems.
Passkeys are still new to some people
We know not everyone has used a passkey before.
That is why the app should guide people clearly when a passkey is available, and why our help centre includes practical setup guidance for Apple and Android devices.
The important bit is simple: if your phone can unlock securely, it can often help you sign in securely too.
Trust starts at sign-in
For us, account access is part of the product experience.
If signing in is confusing, people lose confidence. If it asks for unnecessary information, people notice. If it relies on passwords people are likely to forget or reuse, it creates avoidable risk.
Passwordless sign-in is one small way Winklr keeps the app simpler, safer, and more respectful of the people using it.
