Real People, Anti-spam, Anti-fakes

Fake accounts, cloned profiles, spam, and repeat harassment all make social apps worse. Winklr is built to block the profile and the device behind it.
The problem is familiar
Most people have seen it before.
Fake accounts. Cloned profiles. Harassing messages. The same person showing up again after being blocked.
It is one of the quickest ways to make a social app feel unsafe, noisy, and exhausting.
Blocking should mean something
On a lot of platforms, blocking one account still leaves the door open for the same person to come back with a fresh profile.
That is not much use if the behaviour behind the profile has not actually gone away.
Winklr blocks the profile and the device
Winklr is built to block more than a profile.
When someone is blocked for harassment or abuse, we do not just block that single account. We also block every profile connected to that device.
That makes it much harder for repeat offenders to cycle back in with new accounts and start again.
Why that matters in practice
This approach helps cut down on:
- Fake accounts built to get around a block
- Cloned or throwaway profiles used for spam
- Repeat harassment from the same person
- The frustration of having to block someone again and again
No system is perfect, but the goal is simple. If someone has crossed a clear line, blocking them should have weight.
Block them once, block them properly
For us, this is part of building for real people.
Safety should not depend on whether someone can create one more profile. It should be built into the way the product works from the start.
That is why Winklr is designed to block them once, and block them for good.
Built for real people
Real communities need stronger protections than profile-only blocking.
If we want social discovery to feel worth using, we have to make it harder for spam, fakes, and repeat abuse to keep getting back in.
